So Nicole led us in a Bible study last night and it was awesome!  She talked about how someone once said that women feel like everyday of their lives is like a Miss America pageant.  It sounds at first like it's too extreme, but when you think about what we do to ourselves to make ourselves beautiful...makeup, clothes, hair, shoes, fragrance...it really is like that.  I'm not saying that we shouldn't do any of these things to be beautiful, but when we let it determine who we really are that's when Satan comes in.  Let's try to learn to appreciate that hair we have and the skin we have.  Let's try to not dress provocatively, but still be able to look beautiful while being covered up.  If we all looked the same, wouldn't we be ruining God's perfect plans.  Make sure to see what God's word says about this.  After all, this is just my opinion...He's the MAN.

When you're awakened at night

don't wonder why you were

but rather what is God revealing to me

Many times I've been awakened in the middle of the night and not been able to get back to sleep.  I used to get so frustrated, but I soon realized that God needed to speak to me or I needed to pray for someone...right now.  It's as if God had made an appointment with me and someone else.  It's an awesome thing so don't ignore it.

That's my insight for today.

why do we need to idolize things?

why are we always looking for a higher power?

we know there's something within us that needs to be guided, but why?

are we programmed that way?

then who's the programmer?

everyone has their idea of a religion, but why are there so many?

how long can we escape the truth?

the truth that lies within all of us?

it's only a matter of time and we are not to know that time

for we are not self-created, self-sufficient, nor do we determine our future

we need something

someone

higher than us

to show us the way

to teach us how to live

but where can we find such a person?

the world continues to look under every rock

denying the One who calls each of us to a higher standard of living

look no further and in no other direction but UP

God has made us to call to Him

to need Him

to idolize Him

to strive to live up to His expectations

He has programmed us and we continue to deny Him

Why?

That's what's in my head today, hope it's worth reading.
